   Weather permitting, the Emmaus Historical Society is open every Saturday from

12 noon to 4:00 PM  Anyone interested in staffing the museum on a Saturday should call

          Wednesday, April 16, 2008, the Emmaus Historical Society will meet at 7:00 P.M. at St. John’s Lutheran Church, Fifth and Chestnut Streets Emmaus.  The meeting will be held in the parish hall.  Guest speaker, Kenny Moyer, former Emmaus school teacher, basketball and football coach will speak on Lehigh County One Room School Houses.  The meeting is open to the public and refreshments will be served.

 

Wednesday, May 21, 2008, the Emmaus Historical Society will invite Marie Cope and friend to have a fun discussion on the “Good Ole’ Days” in ‘Hunktown’.  The meeting will be at 7:00 P.M at St. John’s Lutheran Church, Fifth and Chestnut Streets Emmaus.  The meeting will be held in the parish hall.  Election of officers and board members will also be held at this meeting.  Refreshments will be served and the public is invited to attend.

 

          Friday June 6th, Saturday June 7th and Sunday June 8th.  Once again, we will have the Coke Wagon at Wal-Mart to sell hot dogs and sodas.  The dates are   Please support our fundraiser by coming to visit us on one of these days.  If you would like to help, call Grace Lesko at 610-965-2107 or Betty Lou Hartman 610-966-2842.

 

Wednesday, June 18, 2008, we will have our annual membership picnic at Furnace Dam Park at 5:00 P.M. South 10th Street Emmaus.  Please call Betty Lou Hartman if you plan to attend at 610-966-2842.  Members of the Historical Society are asked to bring a covered dish. Meats and drink will be provided.

 

Saturday, September 6th We will be open for Heritage Day from 10:00 A.M.- 4:00 P.M.  There will be 2 trolleys going from each Historic Site and to the downtown area. Parking is available at the rear of the museum.

 

There will be no meetings in July and August but the museum will be open every Saturday from 12:00 noon – 4:00 P.M.  Volunteers are always needed to host visitors.

 

September 17, 2008, at 5:00 P.M. we will have our fall membership picnic at Furnace Dam Park, South 10th Street Emmaus.  Please call Betty Lou Hartman if you plan to attend at 610-966-2842.  Members of the Historical Society are asked to bring a covered dish. Meats and drink will be provided.
